I propose a surtax on all public sector pension payments above $70,000 - how about 55 percent? They really aren’t earning that money and taxpayers are the ones making the payments. And no one needs more than $70,000 in retirement anyway. It is only fair, right?

Here’s the actual deal: the top 20% of income earners pay 61.9% of all income tax in Canada. The bottom 20% of income earners pay 0.7%.
Facts matter.
You are not “fixing” something.
You are unable to control your spending, inducing inflation, borrowing money every year with no plan to stop, and are trying to distract from failure.
