Joe Biden’s presidency has been transformational. His time in office ends tomorrow, but the victories he’s won—to bring back jobs, stand up to big corporations, & build an economy that works for everyone—will continue to touch people’s lives. I am deeply grateful for his service.

When President Biden leaves the Oval Office tomorrow, he will leave behind an extraordinary legacy. Of accomplishing more in one term, than most presidents do no matter how long they serve.

President @JoeBiden has stood by California in our toughest moments over the past four years — right through to the end, as we battle and recover from the devastating fires in Los Angeles. The Golden State is profoundly grateful for the Biden-Harris Administration’s dedication and the progress we’ve made together for millions of Californians. Your service to our nation leaves a legacy that will not be forgotten.

BIDEN ISSUES MORE PARDONS & COMMUTATIONS: 5 pardons, 2 commutations. "America is a country built on the promise of second chances. As President, I have used my clemency power to make that promise a reality by issuing more individual pardons and commutations than any other President in U.S. history." He adds that those granted relief today "have each made significant contributions to improving their communities."

President Biden just declared that the Equal Rights Amendment is now a valid part of the Constitution, and should be considered the law of the land. This is an incredible moment for reproductive freedom, and a historic day for equality – especially with Americans facing the further degradation of reproductive freedom as the incoming administration takes power. Now, women living in states with restrictions on their reproductive freedoms can – and should – file suits to overturn these unconstitutional laws that discriminate on the basis of sex. I know they will have ample support as they seek justice, and I promise to stand by their side in this fight.
Today I'm affirming what I have long believed and what three-fourths of the states have ratified: The 28th Amendment is the law of the land, guaranteeing all Americans equal rights and protections under the law regardless of their sex.
Community note
The text of the Equal Rights Amendment contained a ratification deadline. The amendment was not ratified by the requisite number of states prior that deadline. While some states have ratified the amendment post-deadline, other states have revoked their ratification. repository.library.georgetown.edu/handle/10822/1… brennancenter.org/our-work/resea…
Community note
The National Archivist, responsible new amendments: "At this time, the Equal Rights Amendment (ERA) cannot be certified... due to established legal, judicial, and procedural decisions." The Biden Justice Department’s Ofc of Legal Counsel confirmed this in 2022. archives.gov/press/press-re… justice.gov/olc/file/15532… archives.gov/press/press-re… archives.gov/press/press-re… nytimes.com/2025/01/17/us/…

At the US Conference of Mayors meeting in Washington, a group of about 40 Republican and Democratic mayors was asked just now to raise their hands if they had a project in their cities funded by the Bipartisan Infrastructure law. All of them did.
