Last week we attended the city council meeting where Mayor Brandon Whipple issued & read a proclamation recognizing the 2nd Monday in Oct. as Indigenous Peoples' Day in Wichita. Our '21-'22 NAIEP Princess, Kayci (Cherokee senior at @EastHighAces), represented our program.
It was important for us to honor our Board of Education members and the North High Mascot Committee for their time and work toward the final decision to remove the North High School mascot. Thank you for all you have done and continue to do in support of our community! #WPSproud
