The united voice of liner shipping, working with policymakers and industry groups to shape the future growth of a responsible, safe, and secure industry.
🌎 🌊 Today, #WorldOceansDay reminds us that our ocean sustains life on Earth and that protecting marine species is essential to a healthy planet. Covering more than 70% of the planet, the ocean is home to extraordinary biodiversity and plays a vital role in climate stability.
🤝We support global efforts that strengthen ocean protection from safeguarding whales to advancing marine conservation and ensuring that ocean life can thrive in healthy, vibrant seas. ✅A thriving ocean depends on collective action, and we’re committed to doing our part.

The World Shipping Council is among 200 companies and organisations asking the US Senate to pass the proposed Combating Organized Retail Crime Act. @WSC_shippingtradewindsnews.com/container…
This week, we signed a letter to U.S. Senate Leadership urging the Senate to advance the bipartisan Combating Organized Retail Crime Act, alongside nearly 200 industry partners.
Organized cargo and retail theft has become more sophisticated, with coordinated cross-border operations targeting every link in the logistics network from factory to port to rail. We need an equally coordinated response.
By creating an Organized Retail and Supply Chain Crime Coordination Center, the bill will connect U.S. federal, state and local law enforcement with private-sector experts to share intelligence, coordinate investigations and dismantle the networks driving a surge in theft.

🚢📚🇺🇳Last week, the @IMOHQ 's Maritime Safety Committee adopted new regulations to improve safety at sea: a strict international prohibition on offering unsafe vehicles for sea transport. These changes come into force on 1 January 2028. #Shipping#Safety
"WSC works very closely here in all the different developments at IMO. It is one of the sectors in shipping that is very quick in adapting and demonstrating how resilient we are."
"We saw it through the crisis in the Red Sea, we saw it during the COVID pandemic how the liner industry continues to provide for everyone around the world."
"I look forward to continuing to engage with World Shipping Council, in representing this part of the [shipping] sector, moving ahead with decarbonisation, taking forward the orders of vessels that are alternative fuel ready,” Arsenio Dominguez said.
🎉 At WSC’s 25th anniversary reception at @IMOHQ this month, the @IMOSecGen reflected on the liner shipping industry’s resilience, adaptability and role in the energy transition ahead. See comments below. #WSC25th#WSC#Shipping#Maritime
🚢 🇺🇳 Autonomous ships were on the agenda at @IMOHQ 's Maritime Safety Committee this past week and a half, where WSC’s Nicholas Tabori and George Charalampidis joined discussions focused on the safety of this emerging technology. #Safety#Shipping
WSC has been actively engaged in this work, bringing the liner shipping perspective to the table and helping ensure the framework is practical, global and grounded in real-world operations.
👉 That work continues as IMO moves into the Experience Building Phase, with WSC contributing industry insight as the mandatory Code is developed for completion by 2030.
