WOW. What a first day of Section 7. The stars were shining, college coaches packed the sidelines, and the energy throughout the gym was incredible. No matter which court you walked to, there was talent, competition, and high-level basketball everywhere. Arizona is the center of the basketball world this weekend. The biggest stage of the summer is here, and Day 1 delivered. @Section7Az @GreggRosenberg1 @Risingh00ps

Want a tougher team? Start here: 1. Stop rescuing them 2. Stop repeating yourself 3. Stop negotiating the standard 4. Stop accepting half-effort 5. Stop waiting for buy-in Toughness isn’t talked about. It’s built.

All the out of state EYBL programs and CM on Adidas have more AZ kids AND COACHES than the AZ EYBL program. No Adidas 3SSB program in AZ. No actual AZ ran EYBL program. The talented kids are clearly not the issue. I’m minding my business tho.

Coach @LHSCoachWood could win this award every year. Grateful for his impact and influence in the basketball community as well as specifically in my life.

Alright, I'm not hearing anymore of the John Stockton slander.

High school coaches are expected to be champions, recruiting consultants, film scouts, & relationship managers — on top of teaching 6 classes a day. For pennies on the dollar. Some good ones are walking away. That’s a problem nobody’s talking about.

“My boss told me a long time ago your job is to be a steward of the game. I don’t think right now enough coaches are standing up to be stewards of the game.” Michigan State HC Tom Izzo was asked the secret behind his energy in a profession that burns others out.

... we can't figure out why kids aren't playing youth sports at the same rate as in the past ... Increased social media has led to their mistakes being a potential public shaming. Add to it that it isn't just kids posting it. Adults do too just to get clicks. Wild.
Investigate #12 on Norwalk. Coach too because omg.

I've coached and played in championships. Tonight, I got a new experience: to watch a girls championship with my daughter in a packed gym. The passion and community was unreal. It was so loud at times that we couldn't talk about what was happening in the game. So cool.
