Through the Murrow College's Backpack Journalism program, students traveled to Vietnam to report on the growing demand for Washington apples, capturing not just the economics, but the cultural connections behind the story.

Fifteen years ago, the Washington State Opportunity Scholarship was created to help remove barriers to higher education for students across our state. Built through a strong public-private partnership, including @Microsoft and @Boeing’s early leadership, WSOS combines scholarships, mentorship, and career pathways to become an engine for economic mobility for more than 12,500 Washington students. @OppScholarship

Hey Cougs, a positive update for you on the WSU front:
1) WSU alum Hilary Bhagat is up and running full time overseeing WSU Corporate Cougs as we further engage both the major corporations and Cougs at each company, our focus is the Greater Puget Sound region.
2) WSU alum Kelsey Marie Knutson started November 1, 2025 as Executive Director for CougsFirst and she is absolutely crushing it! The Westside CougsFirst! Show is Friday, May 29th: cougsfirst.org/cougsfirst-sh…
3) We are making progress on making it easier to find and possibly expand lodging options in Pullman - please stay tuned!
4) The tax-deductible WSU Rally Your Region NIL campaign is up and running and now exceeds $382K.
There is still a tremendous amount of work ahead of us, but I can flat out promise you The Great Ascension of WSU is here!
