Your donations work hard. Every last cent helps support the rehabilitation and release of our local wildlife, and our success is very much so your success! As of today, WWCC is caring for the 579 animals, including 11 Allen's Hummingbirds, 12 Brown Pelicans, and 43 Fox Squirrels!
Over the next few weeks, we're going to take some time to recognize volunteers who have gone above and beyond. Today, please take a moment to thank Steve Longman for his years of service, his kind attitude, and his willingness to always jump in at a moment's notice.

As humans, we cannot consider ourselves as separate from our ecosystem. Our choices and our actions have a direct impact on our wild neighbors. We need to learn to coexist better.

Save a wild life by waiting to trim your trees! We rehabilitate thousands of orphans every year that would be better raised by their wild parents. #wildlife#wildliferehabilitation#wwccoc
Maybe we should consider putting Jaret back in his cage... Or getting him into birder therapy. What species do you struggle to differentiate between in the wild? #WWCCOC#WWCC#birding#birdidentification
He's coming out of his cage, and he's doing just fine! Jaret's back with some knowledge to share. We love California Ground Squirrels and you should too. #WWCCOC#WWCC#youshouldlovecaliforniagroundsquirrels
Sometimes, taking videos of our patients doesn't take long. Other times, I have to sit for long periods of time, waiting for the right moment. Thankfully, this Acorn Woodpecker met me somewhere in the middle.
Domoic acid (DA) poisoning occurs when certain algae blooms rapidly, dangerously increasing levels of neurotoxin in the food chain. As the poisoning progresses, seabirds will start exhibiting neurological symptoms. At its worst stage, DA poisoning can cause seizures and death.
Are you going to come to our Wildlife Baby Shower? You'll have the opportunity to see others, like squirrels, opossums, and birds if you take our hospital tour. The Wildlife Baby Shower is on May 3rd from 10 am to 2 pm at 21900 PCH in Huntington Beach, CA.
Every spring, bird parents make nests, occupy holes, or just plop their eggs right on the ground. Sadly, sometimes babies wind up in our care. Come to our Wildlife Baby Shower on May 3rd, 2025, from 10 am to 2 pm for a chance to see some baby animals!
This little friend is not so friendly! After wandering into a garage, it was herded into a bucket and brought in to us. We took a look (from a very safe distance) and said, yep, that looks like a healthy young rattlesnake.
This Burrowing Owl was minding its own business before becoming the victim of a window strike at the aquarium, so it never got to see the frogs. Thankfully, the damage appears to be minimal and prognosis is looking good. #WWCC
