No one in rural Manitoba will be left behind. 🦬 Today, we’re activating a province-wide Disaster Financial Assistance program so communities affected by recent storms and flooding can access the help they need. The damage to communities in the RM of Rockwood like Balmoral and Stony Mountain, as well as the Town of Stonewall are severe and causing folks a lot of stress. But the community spirit on display is stronger. We’re stepping up and working alongside municipalities and our federal partners to bring the resources forward to help Manitobans clean up, rebuild and recover.

To everyone impacted in Swan Valley and the Parkland region: we are here to help. The scale and devastation of this flooding is hard to understand until you’re here in these communities, but it is massive. But so is the generosity of Manitobans stepping up to help their neighbours. We will keep showing up for Manitobans. We will get through this as we always do, by doing this together.

Lumi the lynx has found her forever home. 🐾 I first met Lumi when she was a rescued 12 week old cub who was injured and lost her mom. Seeing her healthy, thriving and settling into her new home at the Assiniboine Park Zoo is heartwarming. I am lynx clan - bizhiw nindoodem - so you could say I’ve been rooting for my relative. We’re proud to support our animal friends with a $650k investment in Wildlife Haven and $5M for a new Animal Health Centre at the @assiniboinezoo .
