Today marks the Anniversary of the beginning of the Battle of Iwo Jima. The five-week campaign that followed saw some of the worst fighting in the Pacific Theater during World War II. By the end of the battle, 6,800 Americans and 18,000 Japanese had perished.

On Friday, I was thrilled to join @BridgeStateU Pres. Fred Clark at the grand opening of the #CyberRange. I offered opening remarks welcoming dignitaries, legislative colleagues, students & staff here at the university, that lies within my senate district.

Today, I presided over the Massachusetts State #Senate, as we advanced local legislation from several municipalities: Swansea, Holliston, Lunenburg, Easthampton, Bolton, Lynnfield, and Williamstown. The Senate meets every 72 hours as required by our state constitution.
