This is wonderful news! We cannot have food/grocery store deserts anywhere in our City. Our community, our residents deserve to not have to drive over city borders for a grocery store. Glad to see ALDI USA is coming to downtown Saint Paul. startribune.com/aldi-downtow…

This month, the Saint Paul City Council unanimously passed 3 ordinances (26-5, 26-6, 26-7) to ensure city employees do not do ICE’s work. I look forward to working with the Mayor’s Office and SPPD to make sure these protections are enforceable — not just words.

We’re just 24 days into 2026 and two Minnesotans Renee Good and Alex Pretti are dead at the hands of federal agents. They should still be alive. To those feeling scared, gaslit, and helpless: you are not imagining this moment.

Yesterday, 15,000 Minnesotans showed the world who we are — resilient, united, peaceful. The only force causing harm and division right now is ICE. We need ICE out of Minnesota — now. The only force causing harm and division right now is ICE. We will resist — together.

No one should have to live in fear just to call a place home. ICE activity across Saint Paul is creating daily trauma for families, children, and entire neighborhoods. This is not normal—and we cannot allow it to become normalized.
