🚨BREAKING: Here’s some initial footage of the SpaceX Massey’s test site after the Ship 36 anomaly. As expected, the test stand seems to be heavily damaged. Repairs will likely take some time. Huge thanks to @RaptorRoostTX for going out there so quick for us! ❤️

And another. I hope when they’re done cancelling so many of their X accounts that they post a single list of what’s left.
Important update: In the coming weeks, NASA's Orion Spacecraft X account will be archived. To consolidate our social media presence, we will post future updates about the Orion spacecraft via @NASA_Johnson and @NASAArtemis.

This would be beyond catastrophic for Earth and planetary science if these cuts happen.
There are reports The White House is considering a 50% cut to NASA’s science programs, and 25% of its overall budget. Learn what this means from our Chief of Space Policy, Casey Dreier. Our Lunar Voyage 1 MAPP rover successfully made it to the Moon, collected data from the lunar surface and in transit, and proved MAPP was ready to drive!

IM-2 mission ended. Was well into shadow, which is the usual problem with the #lunar SP region, although Mons Mouton is an easier part of the SP. So unfortunately less data for our work than could have been obtained

Looking potentially really sad for IM-2
IM-2 Athena loss of signal timings. The reason I feel this is a final event is the sequence was not a controlled power down this was a run to deletion event. Pips after main LOS are indicative of a battery management system oscillating after low voltage cutoff. 🧵⬇️

Today is the day surface wireless technology we have been working on at @SFU since late 90s, including field work invan SP-scale Canadian crater with @pascalleetweets, reaches the lunar surface
Athena completed Descent Orbit Insertion at 4:33 a.m. CST. Right now, flight controllers are gathering data and checking the lander’s landing systems for accuracy. Intuitive Machines is still planning on an 11:30 a.m. CST landing time. Live landing coverage is scheduled to start at 10:30 a.m. CST / 11:30 a.m. EST on the Intuitive Machines IM-2 mission page and NASA . The content on both streams is identical. (6MAR2025 0827 CST)

Phew, had to run out for a few minutes to pick up some peanuts. You don't want an exploration launch with no peanuts. Bad luck! And, given we've pushed/tested for these comms to be launched to moon and Mars for the last 27 years, not going to risk it! #IM2 #LunarComms #LTE #3GPP
