👩‍🚀🇮🇳 BAS : quelques éléments sur la future station spatiale indienne. À l’occasion d’une récente présentation technique de l’ISRO, de nouveaux détails ont émergé concernant la Bharatiya Antariksh Station (BAS), la future station spatiale habitée de l’Inde. 🔹 Le 11 juin 2026, dans le cadre du programme de formation en ligne IIRS-ISRO Digital Learning Programme, le Dr S. Unnikrishnan Nair a présenté une conférence intitulée « Launch Vehicle System ». Cette intervention, diffusée en direct, abordait notamment les systèmes de lancement associés aux futures missions habitées indiennes et au développement de la BAS. 🔹 Figure majeure de l’ISRO, le Dr Unnikrishnan Nair est fortement impliqué dans le programme spatial habité indien. Ses travaux concernent notamment les évolutions du vaisseau Gaganyaan ainsi que l’architecture de la future station spatiale nationale. 🔹 Le diaporama présenté lors de la conférence comportait plusieurs illustrations inédites liées à la BAS. L’une d’elles montrait notamment le module central BAS-02 dans sa configuration encapsulée sous coiffe, offrant un aperçu concret de son intégration avant lancement. 🔹 Les dimensions visibles sur les documents correspondent aux caractéristiques déjà associées au module central BAS-02. Celui-ci afficherait un diamètre allant de 2,8 à 4 mètres selon la sections, pour une longueur proche de 9,25 mètres, soit environ la moitié de la longueur du module central chinois Tianhe. 🔹 Une autre illustration présentait le vaisseau habité Gaganyaan équipé d’un système d’amarrage. Cette configuration confirme la volonté de l’ISRO de rendre le véhicule compatible avec le standard international IDSS (International Docking System Standard), ouvrant la voie à des missions régulières vers la BAS et potentiellement vers d’autres stations spatiales compatibles. 👉 L’Inde poursuit activement la définition technique de son infrastructure orbitale habitée. La Bharatiya Antariksh Station constitue l’une des pierres angulaires de la stratégie spatiale indienne pour les décennies à venir, avec l’objectif de disposer d’une présence humaine autonome en orbite basse. 📄 : Dr S. Wrote a thing - a long read on some thoughts on the future of Earth observation, especially the open data policy which we all seem to be taking for granted. At a time when 60 countries seem to be launching national EO satellite constellations, the question is not whether we will have enough capability - we do. The harder question is whether we will have the will to come together to create a global infrastructure for EO. Sixty countries launching their own EO satellites could mean 60 contributions to a global Earth observation system or just 60 isolated national EO programs that do not add up.

#OTS in 1983, Pioneer 10 passed the most distant planet in our solar system, Neptune. Even though this was before Pluto was declassified, at the time Neptune was the furthest because Pluto's unusual orbit brings it closer to the Sun than Neptune at certain times.
