Azzouz Ayari who is the father of Yasin Ayari spoke to Sportbladet before the World Cup about wanting his son to represent Sweden. Azzouz Ayari is from Tunisia.
"My children are a part of Sweden. My children were born in Sweden. My children's friends is in Sweden. I'm an immigrant. Yasin is Swedish with a Tunisian background. So he has the right to play for Sweden.
I really want him to play for Sweden. He should feel that he can give something back to the nation that really took care of him. That opened the school, opportunities, he ate his meatballs with mashed potatoes. Why should I interfere with that? I'm so happy for him. It was his dream since he was little, he wants to reach his dreams. I'm so happy for him."
Yasin Ayari scored twice against Tunisia in Sweden's opening game of the World Cup and he didn't celebrate the first goal.
