The hypocrisy. These trade unions say they stand for Irish workers, but they’re marching to support more migrants while our own young people can’t even get summer jobs or a start in shops like Musgraves.
Trade Unions in attendance there today:
NIC-ICTU, NIPSA, Unison, INTO, Ulster Teachers Union, NUJ (and others like GMB & Unite)
Then there’s the paid NGOs and groups :
United Against Racism Belfast, Anaka Women’s Collective, North West Migrants Forum, PPR, WRDA and other migrant support groups.
Instead of pressuring companies to hire local Irish kids first and give them proper training, they’re out chanting “refugees are welcome” Irish workers and our young people need the support, not this kind of double standard that ignores housing problems and job competition.
