🧵HOW FF/FG LIMIT HOUSING SUPPLY FF & FG deliberately limit housing supply. This has been unofficial policy for 14 years. They claimed that they were trying to increase supply, while actively ensuring it remained low. This thread exposes how & why they did it.👇

The hypocrisy. These trade unions say they stand for Irish workers, but they’re marching to support more migrants while our own young people can’t even get summer jobs or a start in shops like Musgraves. Trade Unions in attendance there today: NIC-ICTU, NIPSA, Unison, INTO, Ulster Teachers Union, NUJ (and others like GMB & Unite) Then there’s the paid NGOs and groups : United Against Racism Belfast, Anaka Women’s Collective, North West Migrants Forum, PPR, WRDA and other migrant support groups. Instead of pressuring companies to hire local Irish kids first and give them proper training, they’re out chanting “refugees are welcome” Irish workers and our young people need the support, not this kind of double standard that ignores housing problems and job competition.

This really was an attempted solution to the pensions crisis*. It was not a clever solution or brave, but it did allow many wealthy interests to exit the capital markets and leave ordinary investors holding the baby. * the one they're still not talking about.
After pushing immigration as an economic cure-all, the West is now questioning its benefits. Switzerland is at the vanguard. on.wsj.com/4445Ab3

That's all SF, Alliance and the SDLP can muster on a sunny Saturday in June. The people are not behind you on this
Around 5,000 people have attended an anti-racism rally in Belfast city centre. It is taking place outside Belfast City Hall following days of unrest provoked by a knife attack earlier this week rte.ie/news/ulster/2026/0613…

You couldn't make this up! 😐 Sierra Leone's First Lady who ordinarily lives in a Presidential Palace in... wait for it...FREETOWN...was scamming a flat from London County Council and was using it as her personal holiday home residence. She should be in jail.

Why did things kick off in Belfast of all places after the African attempted beheading? There is a lot of nuance and baggage to Northern Ireland. I spoke with Belfast-based writer @SemperFemina21 to learn about the anti-migrant riots near her home. Watch: ngocomment.com/p/belfast-rio…

Two thirds of new homes built in Ireland go to foreigners. This has been government policy for over a decade. Why is the Irish government hiding who gets social housing and housing from the 500 Housing bodies? Why are non-citizens getting tax breaks to outbid Irish for housing?

In 2019 95% of new apartments were sold to funds. FF/FG denied, delayed & gaslit the problem. Eventually, in 2021, they announced a 10% stamp duty as a policy to stop the bulk purchase of homes. This is what the public wanted. It's not what they got.

So @DanMulhall who would you employ in this “unit” to carry out this Orwellian project. A bunch of lefties similar to the ones currently in our media regulator? Who decides what is misinformation? If a post says “humans are not responsible for climate change” “asylum seekers are disproportionately involved in crime” “a man can’t become a woman” purely as examples, do they get removed as one man’s misinformation and another’s man’s truth.
Replying to @BillyKelleherEU
Our government needs to push back more actively on social media. I think we need a dedicated unit designed to combat online misinformation. Its role should be to provide facts in response to the fantasies that flourish on this platform.

Ireland should see at least a 90% rejection rate of asylum applications 12 weeks from now. 90% are not entitled to asylum as they are coming from the UK. Otherwise we were lied to.
The Minister for Migration has hailed the Government’s new rules for asylum seekers as a “fundamental gamechanger” that will benefit applicants by cutting waiting times. newstalk.com/news/migration-…

I'm here in Lisbon. There are Portuguese flags everywhere. I don't feel the slightest bit intimidated. Nor does anyone else, tourist or foreign resident.
