Former U.S. president Jimmy Carter works on a Habitat for Humanity build in Winnipeg in July 2017. Carter, 92 at the time, was cutting wood in the hot sun & collapsed. He was rushed to St. B & treated for dehydration. He returned to the site THE NEXT DAY

NHL player poll from the Athletic. Winnipeg is overwhelmingly the least favourite city to visit. Clear demonstration of how important a healthy and vibrant downtown is to a city’s image. Not just to hockey players, but to tourists, business investors, immigrants, and even locals.
