The police/fire departments received a call at 8:15 PM yesterday for a car into the Sudbury River @ Sherman’s Bridge. Occupant exited the vehicle safely and was not injured. The WFD & Fire D14 Dive team are attempting to recover the vehicle at this time. Please avoid this area.

Crews responded to a well involved vehicle fire in the area of 8 Waltham rd. Crews clearing at this time.

Crews performed a water rescue at 1405 hours. They arrived at the Old Wayland Reservoir in 4 mins. and they found a 63 YO male struggling 100 feet from shore. They rescued the individual with specialized water rescue equipment. He was transported to Newton-Wellesley Hospital.

The WFD responded to 7 Ellen Mary Lane @ 1141 hours for an injured worker on a roof. Crews were able to use a ladder truck and onsite construction equipment to remove the injured party who was transported to Lahey Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries.

Wayland crews were busy with numerous weather related calls today. Natick E3 and Weston Car 1 provided mutual aid. Wayland Car 1 was struck by a large tree while responding to a call on Brook Trail at 1140.
