This week, colleagues have been reflecting on and celebrating two decades of serving communities across Scotland. Thank you to everyone – past and present – who’s been part of this journey. 💙

Today, @ONS published its report on drug-related deaths in 2023. Every single one of these deaths is a preventable, avoidable tragedy. Behind the numbers are real people, with family and friends grieving their loss.

As part of the evaluation of the National Mission on Drug Deaths, we've launched an anonymous survey to ask those with experience of using drugs about their experience of trying to get support in Scotland.

"Do you have experience of using drugs?"
"Have you needed support in the last 12 months?"
"Can you help by taking part in an anonymous survey?"
Today we join over 100 organisations in calling on the @ScotGov to recommit to the Scottish Human Rights Bill.

Meet Graeme.
He began drinking heavily after losing his “Granda” 10 years ago, he has since found recovery with support from our North East Glasgow service.
Listen to his story.
While minimum unit pricing has been a step in the right direction, there is more that needs to be done to reduce the numbers of alcohol-related deaths as seen in today's report.
Here Policy & Public Affairs Lead for Scotland, Graeme Callander, speaks about the changes needed.
@GraemeCall78170 Policy & Public Affairs Lead for @WeAreWithYou tells @STVNews "Things like liver failure, liver cancer will be included in those statistics however there will be a whole host of other conditions where someone will lose their life because they were drinking and we don't know what that figure is and it could be much much more than that. So I think that just reaffirms organisations like ourselves to do more to make sure we have better access, quicker access to treatment and support in our communities whether that be online or face to face"
Today (Tuesday, 10 September), the National Records of Scotland published its annual report on alcohol-specific deaths. Below are some of the key findings from the report.

In the 1st of 3 reports examining Scotlands relationship with alcohol and addiction, I've been looking at the number of us who don't realise we're drinking too much, often until it's too late. More tonight on @STVNews with @RealMacKaySTV @STVKellyAnn. Thanks to @WeAreWithYou
It was only when she had children that Madeleine Downs realised that she was hiding an addiction that would start to consume her life.

An increase in the number of people who died from drug misuse in Scotland last year is expected to be revealed when official figures are published in the next few hours.
It's thought a rise in the use of high-strength synthetic opioids - such as fentanyl - is partly to blame. Scotland already has the worst drug death rate in Europe.
@julietdunlop reports.
There is still time to get involved and eliminate #HepC
It all starts with a finger prick test.
If you think you’re at risk get tested, if you work with people at risk test them and ask yourself are you
doing everything you can?
#WorldHepatitisDay#BeFreeOfHepC#HepCULater
Today is World Hepatitis Day. We believe in reaching the WHO target of eliminating #HepC as a public health threat by 2030
Let’s encourage everyone to get tested and treated.
