In 2016, hackers stole nearly 120,000 Bitcoin from crypto exchange Bitfinex
At that time, the stolen BTC was worth about $70 MILLION
They didn't cash it out and left it for years, people even thought it was gone forever
Then in 2022, US authorities siezed over 94,000 of the stolen Bitcoin and that time it was already worth over $3.6 BILLION
The Hackers had acces to the rest and are one of the World's biggest Bitcoin holders till Today 💀

What happens when access to intelligence can be restricted by a government order?
With centralized AI, the answer is obvious but with Bittensor, it's different and this is because it is an open source
The network is open source and miners are distributed globally
Even if a company operating a subnet faces restrictions, the network itself doesn't disappear

The US government, citing national security authorities, has issued an export control directive to suspend all access to Fable 5 and Mythos 5 by any foreign national, whether inside or outside the United States, including foreign national Anthropic employees.
The net effect of this order is that we must abruptly disable Fable 5 and Mythos 5 for all our customers to ensure compliance.
Access to all other Claude models is not affected.
We apologize for this disruption to our customers. We believe this is a misunderstanding and are working to restore access as soon as possible.

The incentive prgram in the Bittensor $TAO ecosystem is interesting
Miners compete to produce the best intelligence, and Validators stake $TAO to evaluate that intelligence
Better outputs earn more rewards, while poor performance gets pushed out of the network
Instead of relying on a central company to decide what's valuable, Bittensor uses market incentives to discover and reward quality
That's the idea behind its subnet economy
