At Maison St. Louis observatory, temperatures once again rose to above 30 Celsius, which was the 5th day in a row. That has never been seen before since records began, at any time of year.

Just putting this out there #Eastenders As a result of Suki and Nish’s scheming Eve will die. Nish will get her heart but the transplant won’t be successful and Eve’s heart will end up killing Nish. And so the Panesar saga will conclude though the Ravi family will stay.

While it may not have felt like it for many, with sunshine in short supply, provisional figures show May and spring were the warmest on record for the UK. Get the full details, including how warm nights influenced the figures 👇

RIP Rex Ripley who designed the iconic Chevron of the Yorkshire Television logo who has sadly died. He designed it whilst baby sitting his neighbours’ kids and received the princely sum of £370 for designing it!

Congratulations to @YorkHospRadio for sixty years of broadcasting and service to the community. Thanks for the opportunity you gave me to play a small part in that work many years ago. Doubt I’d be where I am today if it wasn’t for the chance you gave me.

Over 40 years after I dreamt of being a Tyne Tees TV continuity announcer I finally made my debut today - though as local continuity has ceased I’ll settle for the weather. Thanks for having me. itv.com/news/tyne-tees/weath…

Here’s the state of play at Dalmuir Twin Tunnels. As you can see, the water level is massive – it’s up to around the window level on a train. The fixed pumps here have been completely overwhelmed by the extreme rainfall. It'll take time for this to clear once the rain stops.
We’ve had to close the Yoker line between Clydebank and Dalmuir due to flooding above the rails at the Dalmuir twin-tunnels. Our pumps in the tunnels are working but have been overwhelmed by the volume of water.
