Daily precipitation amounts in Weather Strip now include rain and snow icons for clarity (below the weekly timeline). 💧❄️ You can enable daily precipitation from the app settings screen. Lack of a number signifies little or no significant accumulation that day.

Weather Strip now includes aurora forecasts! The green area is the likelihood of seeing the Northern/Southern Lights based on NOAA space weather forecasts. (Enable in the settings screen under Experimental.)

Have you noticed that Apple Weather on iOS 16 thinks it rains less? Screenshots taken at the same time, same location, different iOS versions:

@jamespconklin Have you noticed that  Weather shows a lower chance of rain than other providers? I think they're using a different definition of that metric – i.e. how much rainfall over how much time qualifies as rain.

I once asked a meteorologist if there's a standard definition of the chance of rain over time. He just laughed! He said there's no guarantee of consistency even between NOAA NWS regional offices.
