Yesterday, Year 5 presented their assembly beautifully to the whole school (alongside a visit from local councilor Mr. Mike Garner) on the topic of the looking after wildlife and the environment.

We teach our children the importance of kindness and emotional intelligence. The little girl on the left spent yesterday evening painting this picture for the little girl on the right. She presented it at school today and both girls are now full of happy thoughts and feelings.

Our Reception class are loving our new Forest School with play equipment made from recycled materials. This environment is brilliant for building communication and teamwork skills.

Congratulations to our netball team for coming third out of sixteen teams in this weekend’s Thanet Netball Festival Tournament. Two of our players came second in the shootout competition. Congratulations to our star players who won special medals. Great teamwork!

Reception had lots of fun working together at beach school. They read 'The Singing Mermaid' by Julia Donaldson so some made a mermaid and there were lots of sandcastles built. They also picked up lots of rubbish. Our children simply love school!

Lots of outdoor learning today for Year 1 in the fresh air combined with creative time in our art studio!

The children have so much fun in baking club! Today they made lemon forkies. It’s great to see so much teamwork and support during the session. The outcome was simply delicious. Another winning recipe from Mrs Smith!

Our hedgehog highway signs arrived today and our Wild Club members had great fun putting them up. We are passionate about protecting all species of wildlife on-site.

Every single member of staff contributes to the caring and nurturing ethos we have at our school. From the immaculate cricket lawns to carefully constructed adventure playground in our forest school, WHD wouldn’t be what it is without staff like Shaun, Jon, Mick and Mark.
