NASA is aware of the anomaly that occurred tonight at Launch Complex 36 involving Blue Origin’s New Glenn rocket at Cape Canaveral Space Force Station. 

Spaceflight is unforgiving, and developing new heavy-lift launch capability is extraordinarily difficult. We will work with our partners to support a thorough investigation of this anomaly, assess near-term mission impacts, and get back to launching rockets.

We will provide information on any impacts to the Artemis and Moon Base programs as it becomes available.

The City’s Emergency Operations Team (EOT) is monitoring an incident that has occurred at CCSFS at Launch Complex 36, involving Blue Origin’s New Glenn rocket. Staff is in active contact with Canaveral Fire Rescue.

A Flood Watch is in effect for portions of east central Florida through Tuesday evening. Low pressure moving ashore will bring high rain chances (up to 90%) and the potential for low-lying, vulnerable, poor-drainage, and urban type flooding.

Thank you to everyone who helped @CapeCanaveralFL plant 19,776 sea oats this weekend.
About 200 volunteers planted 19,776 #SeaOats across nearly two miles of beach in the #CityofCapeCanaveral in just over two hours this morning. We wanted to give a HUGE #ThankYou to everyone who came out to help make this accomplishment a reality. 🌱
