AI will free academics from the burden of research so we can focus on the work that matters: cyberbullying each other on social media.

All I know is that the discourse surrounding the em dash and AI make me feel personally attacked. First the em dash, next the ellipses, and then the Oxford comma. When will AI appropriation of neurodivergent writing styles stop? #clankerappropriation #chillitsjustajoke

Does anyone have a good explanation to why the em dash (—) is rendered out so much by LLMs The explanation is always that it's in the training data a lot. I don't think that's true at all. And why is it so hard to get LLM's to stop using them?

Replying to @NFL
@NFL you really need to hold referees accountable for bad calls, especially when they involve player injuries

Excited to see this! I really hope they start with the basics and build a good team - I have seen existing policies that are so vague as to over classify what is ‘artificial intelligence’ and unintentionally throw wrenches into ops as a result. Waiting with bated breath!!!
AI presents significant opportunities and formidable challenges for criminal justice. Today, we (w/@RANDCorporation) are excited to announce a new Task Force on Artificial Intelligence to help guide the safe, ethical, & effective integration of AI in the criminal justice system.

Propagandhi has released new music and it is just amazing. When I was 13, I hand wrote a letter to them and they hand wrote me a letter back, which I still have somewhere. This band has been one of the most important things in my life. 1/

This is probably a good article…
OMG, I want to live in this article! Spiegehalter puts in words exactly how I approach probability: it doesn't exist as an objective measure, but it's still useful to pretend it does. In a way, it feels like Calibrated Bayes, my favorite kind of Bayesian!

The worst part about Nashville is that all these bands are taking requests but none of them know ‘Deep in the Heart of Texas’…. #countrymusic #anyothersongistreason

This was a wildly creative & fun piece to write & the first manuscript out of my postdoc 😎 Police personnel held beliefs (both personal & their perception of their peers’ beliefs) that were largely negative in tone. bit.ly/3xCDyGL

William Brown identified veterans of the GWOT era engaging with the criminal justice system as an "emerging storm". Well folks, the rain is here. Now it is time to do some work addressing this issue in a meaningful and effective way on a national scale. governing.com/policy/states-…

I am constantly humbled and excited to be a (minor) member of a great team working under the guidance of Jim D. Seward and developing ways to address veterans and the justice system.
