Posted: GitOps is a placebo stevesmith.tech/blog/gitops-…
Why #GitOps:
1. is just a rebadging of #ContinuousDelivery and #InfraAsCode ideas
2. has no new ideas of substance
3. contains 'best practices' that won't always work
3. offers no benefits that can't be achieved without GitOps

If you're looking for a well-regarded book on what object-orientation is really about, from folks who really know this stuff - then you can't beat this book. So it's wonderful that you can get such a great book as a free PDF download.
Our classic OOD book, Object Design: Roles, Responsibilities, and Collaborations is available for free to download as a pdf from Pearson's website ( they've graciously made this available). You can download it at informit.com/promotions/obje… and share w/ students

I'm running it twice, so hopefully you'll be able to come to one of them.
Registration is free.

Practicing #TCR has led me to a new assertion:
forNow(boolean) {
assert(boolean);
}
I kept wanting to say, "This is the current answer, not the right answer, but I want to commit because further changes would be risky."
It was 1979, this lost video shows Adele Goldberg of Xeroy PARC give a demonstration of precisely what Steve Jobs saw—just a few months earlier.
We see Smalltalk, the mouse, graphical user interface, windows, pop-up menus & browsers.
This demonstration changed Steve—forever.
