The Official Opening Ceremony of

@PaulKagame ,President of the Republic of Rwanda officially opened the summit, reaffirming the importance of nuclear energy in advancing Africa’s industrial growth, competitiveness, and long-term energy security. In his remarks, he emphasized the need for stronger regional cooperation, investment readiness, regulatory confidence, and practical financing mechanisms to support Africa’s clean energy transition. He also highlighted the increasing importance of reliable power systems in driving manufacturing, digital infrastructure, artificial intelligence, and sustainable economic growth across the continent.
During the ceremony, H.E. Dr.
@SuluhuSamia , President of the United Republic of Tanzania also addressed delegates, stressing the importance of financing, regional collaboration, regulatory preparedness, and public confidence in advancing Africa’s nuclear energy ambitions. She noted that Africa’s rapid industrialisation, digital transformation, and rising energy demand require reliable and sustainable energy systems capable of supporting long-term development. The President further reaffirmed Tanzania’s commitment to strengthening partnerships and exploring peaceful nuclear energy solutions as part of the country’s long-term energy strategy.
