LOVED @blastpointinc 's hiring advice to hire moms: we're wildly organized, can manage multiple projects concurrently, And are creative problem-solvers. Cc: @wjsnetwork @FlexableCare

Maybe a good message to #Pittsburgh from Steve Case (AOL founder and VC): “Take half the energy and half the capital you are willing to devote to Amazon and put it towards your startup sector—that will bear far greater fruit over the next 10 to 20 years.”
Another list Pittsburgh scores poorly on or fails to make. As a community, we need to fix this. #RiseOfRest

People are always complaining teens are “too old” for trick-or-treating. Let me tell you. If your kid shows up at my door trying to hang onto one last shred of their childhood, I’ll be damned if I’m going to begrudge them a Snickers bar. Childhood is short enough as it is.

Very definitely true. Another thing that helps is on-site childcare. @FlexableCare

Dear tech companies, Employees don't need ping pong tables or beer fridges at work. 🙅‍♂️🙅‍♀️ Employees need flexibility to do their best work and enjoy life. For instance, working remotely. 🙋‍♂️🙋‍♀️ Please offer trust, not toys. 🙌

One of my least favorite things about the patriarchy is partly what Serena Williams talked about: there is this fiction that women are emotional and irrational, compared to rational, cool-as-a-cucumber men. Except when women get upset, we don’t shoot up schools and churches.

Rape culture is when the bishop officiating the funeral of a global superstar sexually assaults a young woman while verbally insulting her on live TV before tens of millions of viewers and media attack the young woman for "lack of respect" #ArethaFranklinHomegoing

Thanks to @pghtech for selecting us as a finalist for Startup of the Year. It's an honor to be among so many great companies. (Also, so many led by moms!) post-gazette.com/business/te…

National press on PGH narrative of funding and innovation missing the mark for equitable and impactful economic development for those that need it most x.com/workhardpgh/status/102…

.@uscensusbureau says Even in #Pittsburgh proper, only 0.35% of jobs comes from venture-funded companies. Only 1.4% of metro business are #AfricanAmerican owned. Funding & desired outcomes are misaligned. Great read below. @andreperryedu #UrbanTechBoom nyti.ms/2LwayDs
