being a young person in the uk is literally just slowly coming to the realisation that the government hates you and everyone over 60 hates you and every single system is working against you and everything from rent to healthcare is getting dramatically worse and and and and

Wasn't it dangerous for the cameraman to be at the bottom of the ladder before the assault team arrived?
๐Ÿšจ Starmer posts dramatic Royal Marines boarding a Russian tanker like itโ€™s D-Dayโ€ฆ then threatens Putin. All scripted theatre to drag Britain into another war while our borders burn. Heโ€™s no Churchill - heโ€™s a warmonger in a suit. We have no funds and cannot fight Russia alone - he hasnโ€™t a clue what heโ€™s messing with and ๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ธ wonโ€™t help whilst heโ€™s in power. How far will we go until heโ€™s actually crippled this country with us in it ๐Ÿ‡ฌ๐Ÿ‡ง

The degree to which the UK is immiserating itself to achieve โ€œnet zeroโ€ targets is astonishing. The UK already accounts for less than 1% of global emissions.
Astonishing Telegraph story.

A young graduate wanting to live in the same area must fork out ยฃ1,100 a month for a room in a five-bed house (w/ shared toilets), while disproportionately workless recipients of dubiously allocated housing lotteries get to squat in seven-bedroom houses at 70% of the cost.
The council house swapping Facebook groups and websites are very eye-opening. There are 6- and 7-bedroom properties on offer in Zone 2 at ~ยฃ750 a month. Private rents for similar properties would be ยฃ6,000 . Enormous subsidies are being distributed in the worst possible way.

He's got a point, u can't run a country on the sole principle of who can we tax more to pay out more benefits. Totally unsustainable
Carns is asked where the extra ยฃ for defence should come from. ".. I think there are places, such as moving welfare from hand outs to hand ups" Describing welfare as hand outs tells us all about Carns politics & who he wants to target - the sick, disabled, low paid, pensioners

It is literally insane simultaneously to think that 16 and 17 year olds are mature enough to vote but not mature enough to look at Instagram at 8:30pm. This is comically absurd.

Call their bluff. Close all local UK operations, so that no employees or corporate officers can be arrested. Refuse to comply, and dare them to geoblock. Without Google and Apple, the UK economy would probably collapse. It isn't so much that those services are crucial (although they are), it's that Britain is already on the fiscal brink and all it would really take is a little push. I'm sure blocking the Internet would go over really well with the British people, too.

โ€œVirtually ZERO sovereign AI capabilityโ€? UK is No.3 on the planet according to Top Ranked AI Nations (TRAIN) Index. And tell that to Isambard-AI, the 11th most powerful supercomputer on earth, funded by the last Conservative government and unveiled at the Bletchley summit we convened to put Britain at the front of global AI. Britain is building its own frontier model right now, backed by a ยฃ500m fund. As ever from Reform: capital letters, no plan. Why are you always talking Britain down?

How do so many people miss the "THE" before UK. It doesn't even sound right when u read it back without "THE"
Saw this in London today. Have they changed the Ministryโ€™s signs from โ€˜HM Governmentโ€™ yet? Again, I say that when the blob actually wants to do something it can move fast. Lethargy is a problem only for things it doesnโ€™t want to do, which is anything useful. @tomhfh

And yet they havenโ€™t bothered to fix the grammar! It should be funded by โ€˜*the* UK Governmentโ€™. But because we are governed by halfwits I doubt they even noticed. Just swapped out the โ€˜HMโ€™ for the โ€˜UKโ€™ and then Mr/Mrs Stagnant Productivity went home.
