Every time I read a book that has a prison scene and the imprisoned characters inexplicably receive books in the mail from friends/family as if that is something you can do in prison.
I read a story in which the author, whose hero was Texas, mentioned someone taking a "slice" of Frito pie, and thus exposed himself as a poseur. In a different story, by a different author, the hero went to Waffle House and bought a Belgian waffle - making it clear he had never in fact visited a Waffle House. In the Walking Dead, they go from Florida to South Carolina and can't find a single firearm in any house. "Huh" I thought. "The screenwriters are from Los Angeles." What examples can you give of a writer unintentionally giving away his lack of knowledge?

Despite all the gore and sexual violence, Gods Fare No Better is at its core a story about the power of friendship turning despair into a blade powerful enough to cut through the endless pointless stories we’re buried under. It is anti-nihilistic. It’s a grimbright story. That’s why it feels alive.

I’ve been doing a lot of promo for Gods Fare No Better, but I can’t forget about the other book I dropped last year. Berserker Club is a much shorter, more intense entry point. Review quotes from Janglebones’ stack.

I had a great time teaching a flash fiction writing workshop for Psyches of Color’s Mentoring POC Healing Arts Program. It was a fun time stepping outside of my comfort zone, connecting with the youth, and teaching them how to flex their creative muscles.

OFFICIAL TRAILER - Austin Abrams is stuck inside of a whale (literally) in WHALEFALL. In theaters October 16. The odds of being swallowed alive by a whale are not zero.

Whenever I’m somewhere and I hear “Holding Back the Years” by Simply Red I am reminded of Sanaa Lathan having to play a game of 21 for love, that’s fucked up 🤣🤣🤣🤣

Watching Edward Scissorhands with my daughter and what’s up with Kathy Baker trying to fuck everything in this movie? What’s that about? This movie not appropriate for kids.

A motorized wheelchair in Dundalk? Yes, your eyes are not deceiving you. Footage captured over the weekend shows a wheelchair driving on Merritt Boulevard at the same speed as cars, prompting an incredulous response. 🎥: Kayla Morgan-Mcnall

I don’t like these Grumpy Monkey kids books. Grumpy Monkey gets invited to a party but he can’t dance so he declines and the other animals say that’s OK, you can still come, you don’t have to dance if you don’t want to, and he doesn’t. Terrible lesson for children.

It always stinks so bad in the dispensary. All these people and all this sweat and mustiness, it’s gross, these people barely bathe, I love smoking weed but I hate potheads
