Today's Black American (Freedmen) innovator is Arlene Maclin. Maclin is a physicist who led a high-speed integrated circuit program at the CIA. Under her leadership, the program advanced silicon chip technology from roughly 10 transistors to over 100,000 within a few years. I remember #DustinHiggs, executed on Jan 16, 2021, the last person murdered by the Trump administration. He was not the shooter. All the witnesses agreed that the sole shooter was his co-defendant who got LWOP. Mr. Higgs was innocent.

On Christmas Day, Sam Sharpe organized a massive slave uprising in Jamaica. The uprising was put down and Sharpe was executed, but the uprising eventually forced Britain to abolish slavery sooner than it had originally planned. For his role in the uprising, Sharpe was executed, but this was a fate which he accepted. He stated: βI would rather die upon yonder gallows than live in slavery.β

I remember #KevinJohnson executed by the state of Missouri on Nov 29, 2022. The state executed him despite a prosecutorβs conclusion that the conviction was too tainted by racial bias to stand. Race played a decisive and unconstitutional role at every stage of the prosecution.
