That’s a wrap on the Wiki In School 2026 Training! From June 4th to June 7th, 2026, Wikimedia User Group Nigeria hosted an intensive in-person training session in Lagos, officially launching the next phase of the Wiki In School (WIS) 2026 program. The goal? To equip Nigerian tertiary lecturers with 21st-century digital literacy and research skills so they can guide their students in contributing high-quality, academic content to Wikipedia. We are incredibly proud to celebrate the 4 exceptional scholars who participated and are leading this open-knowledge movement across Nigerian universities: * Aniekan Aniefiok Udonquak (Akwa Ibom State University) * Umar Faruk Yunus (Federal University of Lafia) * Dr. Aniefon Akpan (National Institute for Nigerian Languages) * Dr. Sophia V. Adeyeye (Lead City University, Ibadan) Thank you to our brilliant scholars, our dedicated facilitators, and the Wikimedia Foundation for making this training a resounding success.
