After all 64 spots (the cap) had been filled, they announced that the event would serve as a qualifier for the EWC. This event gave me a bad feeling right from the start. - The event name was changed. - The host city was changed. - There was a player cap of 64 participants. - It was scheduled for the exact same dates as Evo Japan. If this were a Master 3 tournament, it might be understandable; however, given the scarcity of Master 2 tournaments—especially those offering a direct pass to the EWC—I view this as an act of bad faith.
