Panorama tonight, exclusive, the supposed squeaky clean pinup of the water industry, @stwater, is nothing more than a faded, sleazy page 3 pullout, sellotaped to the walls of a dilapidated warehouse. Featuring you know who. 😊 bbc.co.uk/news/articles/cd75…

Tonight on @BBCPanorama we’re investigating the water company Severn Trent. We believe it’s used a BIG accounting trick to artificially make the regulated company appear more than £1.5bn better off. The company strongly denies this but see what you think… 8pm, BBC1 #BBCPanorama

In the words of our Scottish Director: "This is a deeply concerning situation whereby a highly polluting and damaging industry operating in Scottish waters seems to believe it is above the law". @FerretScot

The Guardian has revealed companies like @CocaCola are extracting billions of litres from UK aquifers to sell as bottled water – water our rivers simply cannot spare. The @EnvAgency claims strict regulations are in place but the evidence shows otherwise. theguardian.com/environment/…

One of our proposed amendments to the Government’s Water Bill would change the law, once and for all, forcing water companies to publish sewage and ‘operational’ data they are currently trying to withhold from the public. @adamvaughan_uk thetimes.com/article/8f67b11…

As @adamvaughan_uk article says it is "not rocket science". We need to enforce the law in place to protect our rivers and take back control from polluters. thetimes.com/uk/environment/…

Imagine coming home with a report card like this and then asking for more pocket money. And that's after you've trashed the neighbourhood and sold off the family silver.

49 of the Strike Against Sewage We’re fast approaching week 52! Do you have any suggestions on how we should mark our one-year anniversary? As the year milestone draws near, it’s a good time to reflect on what the strike is all about. The strike provides an opportunity for people to come and talk to us about the campaign, to learn why we’re doing this and what our goals are. We’re always open to debate on the matter, though unfortunately, social media often isn’t the best platform for productive discussion. We have met and debated the topic with the head of United Utilities, the Environment Agency, OFWAT, the Secretary of State, the deputy prime minister and many other organisations and individuals wanting to talk to us about Windermere. The strike offers another avenue for these conversations, and if people can’t make it on a Monday between 9-10, we welcome them to reach out and arrange a meeting at another time. We deeply appreciate the hundreds of people who have come to support us at the strike, and we’ll see you again next Monday, 9-10. savewindermere.com
