Happy #TurtleTuesday! Here’s a Blanding’s Turtle showing off its characteristic yellow chin! They are considered endangered in Illinois due to habitat loss. Since 2010, we have been helping with the release of hundreds of head-starter babies in order to help conserve this species

We are celebrating the end of summer break with a successful week of box turtle team! We have such amazing veterinary student volunteers that made our field and lab work the most fun and efficient! How can we have turtle searches every week? 🐢

Our very own, Dr. Laura, is the recipient of the very prestigious, Walder Grant! The Walder Foundation promotes the sustainability of the natural environment. Laura’s study will establish an infectious disease surveillance program for freshwater turtle communities in Chicagoland.

Scamp is one of the older working Turtle Dogs, but she still shows her nieces and nephews up from time to time! Just when you think she’s losing focus, she brings you a very handsome turtle. These dogs are amazing!
