The most exciting finding, in my opinion, was that reproductive fitness was lower in fish with more rainbow trout (and less cutthroat trout) ancestry. Native cutthroat trout of the North Fork Shoshone River probably owe their continued existence to this!
ALT Model results for the effects of Yellowstone cutthroat trout ancestry on reproductive fitness. There are four plots showing the predicted number of offspring and probability of zero offspring being sampled for both male and female trout. All plots show that more cutthroat trout ancestry increases reproductive output.
