Learned so much at this workshop! Using the models I see in papers seems so much easier now. Absolutely check out the #PhylogeneticComparativeMethods book if you use (or want to use) phylogenies in your research!
Unofficial book-launch #PhylogeneticComparativeMethods in #Rstats workshop at the University of Wyoming with @lukejharmon for our book with @PrincetonUPress.

My masters' research is now out in @molecology! Learn about the fitness implications of hybridization for Yellowstone cutthroat trout here: doi.org/10.1111/mec.16578 Many thanks to my collaborators @cewagnerlab, John Fennell, @liz_mandeville, Jason Burckhardt, and @awaltersWY

The most exciting finding, in my opinion, was that reproductive fitness was lower in fish with more rainbow trout (and less cutthroat trout) ancestry. Native cutthroat trout of the North Fork Shoshone River probably owe their continued existence to this!

This work required quite a few models and simulations -- please check them out if you think about hybridization outcomes or estimating fitness in non-model organisms! Find the code & data here: github.com/will-rosenthal/NF… If you don't have access to the paper, please DM/email me

I was thankful for the opportunity to speak about these important issues related to continuing support of women and parents in the wake of the pandemic. This study's results underscore the importance of continued policies to support hard-hit groups: science.org/content/article/…

Non-native but still beautiful -- I really enjoyed watching these brook trout get ready to spawn in the inlet to a Wyoming alpine lake

We wrote this piece for all the parents and caregivers facing impossible decisions as campuses open up without adequate COVID protections in the face of the Delta variant surge. We see you. We those in leadership positions start to also. Please share.
Replying to @500womensci
In this op-ed, @500womensci authors (including @cewagnerlab, @ZaarlyLiz, @tanyadapkey, @this_is_farah, & @susanjcheng) write about the excruciating decision facing parents, and list suggestions on how to protect students, staff, faculty and communities: scientificamerican.com/artic…

I am so thrilled to share our ‘rough fish’ perspective paper, which is o-fish-ally live at Fisheries Magazine. There's a good amount to unpack in here, so it's 🧵time. afspubs.onlinelibrary.wiley.…
