Lots of hard work by @MadCientista to show bacterially-induced IBD is sufficient to allow C. diff infection, no antibiotics necessary! Really excited to see how this model helps us further understand host-microbiome interactions!

Why is the incidence of C. difficile colonization and infection higher in those of us with #IBD? I don’t know, but @UM_MICHR awarded me a translational research fellowship to find out. I’ll never forget the moment I 1st saw mice with IBD colonized with C. diff, no antibiotics! 👇🏼
