Starting my mornings with The Lord’s Prayer; still the greatest template for prayer ever given. “Our Father, who art in heaven…” anchors everything. It reminds me who God is, aligns my heart with His will, asks for daily provision, forgiveness, protection, and ends in worship. I pray it slowly, then branch out from there: personal thanks, specific needs, intercession. Simple. Powerful. Timeless. Who else starts their day with it? 🙏

End of the week and I’m just grateful. Grateful for the hard stuff that grew my faith, the quiet moments where I felt His peace, and the simple fact that I woke up breathing this morning. Whatever this week looked like for you; victories, tears, both. God was in every part of it. Let’s go into the weekend resting in that. He’s faithful. Always has been, always will be.

Just one touch from the King changes everything. That weary heart, those hidden struggles, the places you think are too far gone; He reaches in with mercy and makes it new. Like the woman who simply touched the hem of His garment and was healed (Mark 5:25-34). Reach out in faith today. You won’t be the same. 🙏 #Faith #Jesus

On this D-Day, June 6, we remember the courage of those who stormed the beaches for freedom. At the National D-Day Memorial in Bedford, VA, this brave soldier reminds us of the ultimate sacrifice. “Thank you, Lord, for the heroes You raised up that day. May we never forget their faith and valor. God bless America.” 🙏🇺🇸 #DDay #NationalDDayMemorial

Lord, You’ve given each of us a limited number of days on this earth. We can’t add more time to our lives, but we can sure add more life to our time. Help me not just exist, but truly live fully present, walking in faith, loving the people right in front of me, and making every moment count for Your glory. I don’t want to reach the end and realize I was just going through the motions. I want to live with purpose. Amen.

Grief is just love with nowhere to go on this earth, but it finds its perfect home in the arms of God. Some days grief sneaks up on you, even 30 years later. I’ve now lived longer without my father than I did with him, yet I see his impact on my life every single day. Losing him made my childhood memories louder and more precious, teaching me to cherish every throwback as a gift from the Lord, knowing I’ll be with him again one day in eternity.”

God Doesn’t Want You Busy, He Wants You Effective. For years I believed that constant busyness was a sign of holiness. The more I did “for the Lord,” the more spiritual I thought I was. So I filled my calendar, chased important-looking work, and told myself I was being faithful, while quietly neglecting the very people and moments right in front of me. I’ve come to see that was a lie.

It’s my son wanting his dad to play 1v1 basketball after dinner. It’s my daughter still reaching for my hand so we can take a walk. It’s stopping for the elderly veteran holding a cardboard sign; not just giving him money, but looking him in the eye and reminding him he’s seen. It’s noticing the woman in the grocery store wiping away tears because her mother just passed, and quietly praying for her right there.

These moments aren’t distractions from “real ministry.” They are the ministry. I’ve wasted far too much time and energy trying to do something great for God, when all He ever wanted was for me to be faithfully present. Holiness isn’t found in a packed schedule. It’s found in love that notices, love that lingers, love that stops. The most righteous thing I can do some days isn’t another meeting or project. It’s being fully where I am, with the people right in front of me. That’s effectiveness. And I believe that’s what God truly values.

When I reach the end of my life, I hope I have done three things. Fought the fight, finished the race, and kept the faith.

This Memorial Day, my daughter and I visited Major Joseph Eggleston’s grave at Grub Hill Church in Amelia County. A true Revolutionary War hero who fought under Light-Horse Harry Lee, he gave everything for the cause of liberty. We laid flowers in the rain and stood quietly, reading his weathered stone. Seeing my daughter learn about a Virginia patriot from our own backyard made it all the more special. Grateful to pass that respect from one generation to the next. Freedom truly isn’t free. #MemorialDay #NeverForget

The heavens just split open after this merciless drought. Cracked earth, cracked hearts, all of it. I stepped out this morning and let the rain hit me, wild and relentless, like the Father rushing in to revive what was dying. He restores. Always. Thank You, Lord, for every single drop.

The hardest battle I fight every day isn't against a mountain. It's against the voice in my head that tells me to quit before I've even started.
