And just like that, Dolphins OTAs for media viewing are in the books. The June 9 recap:
Lonnie Johnson picked off Malik Willis in a 2-minute period.
It ended a nice streak of throws from Malik where he was getting it out on time and on target, including a couple of wow throws. His best was a 25-yard show from the far hash to Malik Washington, who continues to show a bigger catch radius than his frame would suggest.
I thought the OL was once again sturdy against a flurry of ever-changing pictures from the D. The interior's size with Proctor and Jonah flanking Brewer creates some really good step up lanes for the QBs even when the D brings the house.
Proctor had an impressive anchor rep on a KG bull rush to close practice - imagine two grizzly bears squaring off on some Nat Geo documentary.
Dante Trader might've been the player of the day. He punched one out on Jalen Tolbert after a nice hook up with Willis. There was debate about whether it was a catch or not. Trader also had a PBU ranging all the way over to the sideline on a honey-hole shot from Ewers to Terrace Marshall.
Jacob Rodriguez also had a FF punching a ball out of Terrace Marshall's hands.
Jordyn Brooks had a PBU and a sack.
Jordan Phillips had one of the best two-play sequences I've seen out here. First, he retraced a pass downfield and would have been in on the stop if we were live. Then the next play he splits Brew and Proctor for a sack.
Mason Reiger his Marques Cox with a little ghost move (dip under the outside shoulder) for an immediate sack.
Chop continues to flash that move, with others, including a nice win where he stabbed inside then got back on the outside shoulder of Pat Paul. Chop looks really explosive.
Ewers threw the ball with a lot of conviction today. Hits the top of the drop and makes up his mind. He floated a nice deep shot up the sideline to Donovan Edwards for about 40 (20 air, 20 after).
Kevin Coleman Jr. continues to get open, and against a variety of looks, coverages. He flashed big time this spring.
Tutu Atwell made a nice contested catch on a ball from Ewers working on top of Marco Wilson. Marco was all over it but Tutu high-pointed it and framed it while he tapped his toes.
