Be careful what you wish for! I finally got my own set of @FIDE_chess DGT FIDE World Chess Championship chess pieces (with the sensors of course!) and found that all four knights' cuts were skewed toward the left as shown! Now, if it were really as simple as that, I could just return this set and just get all my grand and a half back no problem, but no, it's not that simple! As you can see as I've shown in the videos, I've discovered that similar QC issues were overlooked by not only DGT but FIDE themselves, and FIDE too, also had pieces that are not up to the "perfectly symmetrical" standard that they so claimed to hold manufacturers to! If I were to return this set, I would get a lot of money back, but this FIDE set is still the heaviest set of chess pieces that DGT has to offer, and knowing fully well that these QC issues are something that even FIDE are willing to look past, the jank, while impossible to unsee, at worst will only be funny story to tell at the dinner table. If I were to keep using this set of pieces I would still have all the benefits I look for when I use these, because not only will they help me organise events that will draw in a lot more people, I will also get to use this set in my own games as a player if I were to attend a FIDE open which would definitely help prevent people from knocking over the pieces! But if I were to return this set, it would be a lot of money I'd be getting back. What do I even do at this point? I would love to hear your replies because I'm genuinely looking for some advice!

I'm NOT joking. South Korea and Russia are INFAMOUS for targeting exempt people with forced military drafts, especially people with disabilities that wouldn't make them eligible in the first place. We get targeted more often than actually draft-eligible people.
An increase in the number of vtubers being officially drafted into the military is extremely concerning. I fled here to Canada in the hopes of avoiding military draft because countries with conscription are infamous for forcedrafting people who are exempt due to disability...

Any form of chess that isn't over-the-board classical 4v4 deserves to cease to exist altogether. Over-the-board, because while it's even EASIER to cheat in OTB vs in online chess, OTB has the tactile experience of having the action take place right in front of you, even if the pieces and pawns are mere trinkets that aren't necessarily supposed to be your real army. A mouse and a screen will NEVER do chess any real justice! Classical, because it's the great equaliser for people with cognitive disabilities and recent engine discovery has shown that many "dubious" gambits; such as Albin Countergambit, Rotary-Albany Gambit, Portuguese Gambit, and Adhiban Gambit just to name a few; are not so dubious anymore and are actually playable at top level chess in classical time controls. A master level player managed to win a classical game with Latvian Gambit as recently as 2023! 4v4 and/or other team formats, because it teaches important lessons in regards to commitment, camaraderie, teamwork, loyalty, and the whole nine yards, all those virtues that nearly all people in the modern world have thrown out the window! We need to bring those values back, and team-based events are the perfect way to do so! Plus the added bonus is that you get to fly your own flag with custom designs and DIY your own uniforms!

Can I write something a bit controversial today? At the @FIDE_chess Candidates that happened earlier this year, I was getting real sick of everyone playing Queen's Gambit Declined but after taking a closer look at the games, Sindarov was playing more aggro than he seemed!

I kinda WANT him to win the World Chess Championships now. I'm really going to study the Ragozin and the Vienna variations of QGD a little more while I'm at it. They're not necessarily gambits, which are what I normally play, but more variety means more guesswork for opponents.

I still really love my Albin Countergambit though.

Part of me wants to keep my DGT FIDE WCC chess pieces, just so that in the event I'm going to be playing a similar fast classical tournament I get to bring my own pieces instead of the same ol' Timeless pieces they keep using.
Why did Pragg decide to go ultramode this year? πŸ˜‚#NorwayChess

I watched that game last night. The refs did the Spurs real dirty that whole series.

This would get me super furious if I were still forced to notate the moves myself and not allowed a ChessNoteR to use; it's basically a non-issue for most chess players but they have no idea how much tougher it is for people with disabilities such as myself.

Shouldn't that not be a concern if they find a way to consistently win Map 3? Oh wait, it's Overload, the most broken game mode ever that throws any competitive integrity out the window. Welp, R-I-P.
Aches GOES OFF and says OpTic Texas aren't anything special πŸ‘€πŸ˜³ "For OpTic this is worrying, they blow at SnD, no clutch factor, selling rounds, it's getting embarrassing now" "They're getting neslod consistently, they are just HP stars and nothing specia outside of that" πŸ—£οΈπŸ˜¬

Strongly disagree. Four games of classical instead of two? Definitely! But knockout formats are where I draw the line. It should be an open giant round robin (100 players!) with an affordable fee and low floor to entry and four games of classical every round.
Do you agree with Hikaru? πŸ€” #FIDEWorldCup

Nothing wrong with a Fast Classical time control and four of them back to back in one day though.

I mean, yes, this kind of "error" is commonplace in a lot of AI works and what have you, but people with six or more fingers on each hand have existed in the past, even in real life.
Games Workshop made a statement after fans saw a Space Marine with an extra finger in new Warhammer art and thought AI was used. The company explained it: "Does that Space Marine have an extra finger? Yes, but it is not AI or early signs of mutation among the Traitor Legions. So please go easy on our artists. They are only and completely human."

Where can I get this?! I get that I'm really short but this would definitely help mum and I find each other at Costco! I'm going to wear this every time we go get groceries!

I mean, it's much better than the previous recent tier lists, we take anything we can get. T_T
New Tier List just dropped πŸ‘€ Agree or disagree?

Look what I just pulled the trigger on... πŸ‘€ Yeap, they're not just any DGT pieces, they're the same design and specs as the ones that are used in FIDE Candidates and the World Chess Championships match coming up.
