ใ๐ธ๏ธใI tend to place long intervals between written pieces.
Both as a โcornplateโ deterrent and because Kafka herself, falls subject to blipping in and out of sight.
While many take qualms with her lack of active story participation, I find it should be no-more than expected.
โ
Absence is a keystone facet to Kafka's character. Closehood at length, any degree of constancy, even for those she cares about; Simply does not befit her nature.
It should be understood that in many regards, she stands highly distinct from the other Hunters.
Two most important factors being:
- Proximity to finality/the script.
As shown in Mappa's animated piece, wherein Kafka arranges the figurative red thread of destiny. Different from her companions, who ultimately are more โsubject toโ than โoverseer ofโ.
Kafka's insight is second only to Elio. Who, as I can extrapolate at present, is a conduit of Terminus. Someone through which purpose flows, while the vessel itself holds little, if any.
(Aforementioned is not an indictment or claim of superiority, given the SH are all heavy hitters and stand-out personalities.)
- Domesticity. Firefly (shown in Penacony), SW and even Blade, possess a far greater propensity for socialization and camradery.
All of them maintain semi-frequent communication and seek the player out in a capacity, which should not be impossible for Kafka to also do.
Alas, she rarely reaches out, because as stated; Such is her nature. Not to be tamed.
I sincerely believe that, given Kafka's wartorn background, she could NEVER adjust to an everyday mode of living.
A retirement which for her fellow Hunters, though some might face greater hurdles than others, does lie within the realm of possibility.
โ
Given the years of accumulated anticipation and surrounding air of mystery, it has become frighteningly easy for Kafka's arc to fall flat.
When in updates to come, she does mount center stage, anything less than the story's absolute crux; May very well prove underwhelming. Which would inevitably, render the long wait not-worthwhile.
โ
I can tell that, whichever collective of writers holds the reins, must absolutely love Kafka.
Because it is not neglect, but rather reverence to this specific brand of character, that leads them to hold off on her grand act.
In the context of Kafka, anything approaching frequency, amounts to over-utilisation.
Appearances anywhere less than crucial, stand akin to character dilution.
To jump the gun, because your average fan would preferably consume non-stop, bite-sized quantities?
A waste of momentum, years-in-the-making.
โ
I hold a certain amount of appreciation toward these intermissions.
Because not only does radio silence swiftly thin out the shallow brunt of her fanbase;
It conveys that whenever Kafka does show, said moment will be artfully curated and is bound to do her justice.
Hereby concludes another installment of my insufferable rambling...
Love. ๐
