No one is jealous of BYU.
I'll bite today. But BYU spent $27 million on their roster and lost round 1!!! The parading around from USU and Utah fans is so funny to me. AJ Dybantsa is the greatest sports prospect coming from the state of Utah in history, maybe 1a/1b with Merlin Olsen. I get the jealousy.

Utah Valley lost its three best players to the portal — all going to HM schools. The Wolverines haven’t taken a step back at all — sitting at 8-3 with a double digit W over UCSB. Todd Phillips is a brilliant coach and Utah Valley is 36th in defensive efficiency and 82nd overall in KenPom. Point guard Trevan Leonardt is such a winner. Not a crazy scorer but he does everything needed to win games.

BYU is dumb and so is this hypothetical: The National Championship game is never on a Sunday lol
My feed is full of sportsbros celebrating that General Conference will no longer get in the way of the Final Four (they'll claim they're joking, but they're not really). I’ve been arguing for a while now that sports have evolved into a form of idolatry for many, often superseding spiritual priorities. Seeing people relieved that they don't have to choose between an Apostle and a basketball game, or worse, openly prioritizing the game, just confirms that theory. Consider this hypothetical: Imagine BYU basketball makes a run to the National Championship game. But, the game is scheduled for a Sunday. The Church holds the line on Sabbath observance and refuses to let the team play, forfeiting the title shot. How many of you would be mad at the church and the brethren? You know what you’d do? You’d crumble. You would literally lose your minds. You’d be on here crying real tears because you couldn't watch a bunch of 19-year-olds run cardio for two hours.

The boys are still balling out 🥹

People who break the rules and then mad when rules are followed are silly.

This is hilarious. Please leave Utah, Brad and co.!
What's my spicey LDS opinion? The Californiacation of Utah will ultimately see the LDS church re-center itself in a foreign land. Most probably central or south America. Might not happen in my lifetime. But I think it will happen. Utah is being taken over by secular progressive people with lots of money and bad politics. And that's a damned shame. This used to be a sane, affordable state. But the mass influx of coastals with cash has done a number on us. 🫣😞

Last time UVU students went to the MC was to watch UVU beat BYU!
I really don’t care how big the Marriott Center is. I don’t care how big the “ROC” is. If you give student tickets to students of other institutions you instantly lose any “Best Student Section” argument.

Turn things around they did! UVU avenges their early North Dakota loss, beating the Fighting Hawks 80-57. As a team, UVU shot 51.7% from the field and 42.9% from three (12-28). Can we play every game at home??
A chance to turn things around at home! Still have a ton of faith in this squad! A talented group. Hopefully a home game does some good.

Turnovers and cold shooting near the end of the game leads to a loss to Samford, 84-76. Losing a double-digit second half lead hurts. 3-point shooting continues to struggle. Positives: the team seems to be settling into roles earlier and better than last year. NDSU next.

Poor shooting nearly dooms UVU but the Wolverines walk away winners versus West Georgia, 77-74. Carter Welling cracks 20 points for the first time in his college career. Nelson does his thing late and Wells has a couple of clutch offensive rebounds layups to put UVU on top.

Had a few days to sit on an immediate thought and I still think it’s true: The Murray State win is the best win in the young Todd Phillips era. The make up of this team is great for his system—skilled big men with slashers and shooters surrounding them.
WHAT A FINISH!!! WOLVERINES WIN!!!!
