Recipients: Marisa Gaspar, Michael Prizio
flipped on its roof and starting to catch fire. She called for help. A citizen stopped to assist as Officer Michael Prizio arrived. The door had to be pried open; the operator was semi-conscious.
The operator’s seatbelt had to be cut off. Officers dragged the operator to safety. After removal from the car, the vehicle became fully engulfed in flames. The operator survived.
Officers did some digging and located the correct address and knocked with no response. They heard someone gasping for air inside and worked together to force entry.
They found a man with his eyes rolled back and a necktie around his neck. Officers cut the tie loose, and the man vomited and began to breathe. Their actions saved his life.
The Worcester Police Department would like to inform the public that prior to the start of the upcoming FIFA Watch Party at City Hall on June 13th, a public safety assessment of the surrounding area will be conducted using a department drone.

James Sullivan, Head Basketball Coach at Worcester Academy, and Worcester Police Officer Sean Lovely, a founder of the event. Their commitment to the community deserves recognition.
