I received Word documents from two different clients this week that had weird formatting (grey highlighting & blue text in one, bold text in another) that I couldn't fix using the usual keyboard shortcuts or buttons on the Home tab. Luckily, format painter did work. Anyone else?

Well, that's a new one: found a journal that has the full text publicly available and will let me view a PDF or ePub version on screen, but says I don't have the required license to download either version or print the on-screen version to PDF.

Not sure what the point of that is, exactly. I just wanted to import the PDF into my EndNote library with all the other PDFs so I only have to work from one source. UGH.

My favourite thing about freelancing is getting to catch up on the details of the latest research in so many different fields. I'm currently working on a manuscript on a topic I haven't followed closely since undergrad, and it's amazing how far it's come!
