People are lightning fast to celebrate posts of "film festival wins" on social media, but slow to research or ask where they come from. The truth is often ugly #norfolkcounty #haldimandcounty

It's not a real legit film festival if the fine print reads: "Every submission is selected" or "trophies can be bought if you pay for it and shipping costs." #filmfreeway #scams

Not all film laurels are the same. Credible in-person annual festivals have standards. Online monthly pay-to-play showcases give out laurels like puppy mills. For filmmakers, communities and media, it’s important to know the difference. Quality recognition is earned, not bought

Glad to see more @conont conservation authorities, like @NottawasagaCA embracing National Indigenous People's Day in tomorrow. Let's see if we can finally get all remaining CAs to join in 2026. It's time to embrace land and water stewardship with Indigenous culture ♥️ Miigwetch

Don't be the kind of #filmmaker who thinks a fast track to calling themselves 'award-winning' means using shady “pay-to-win” festivals, online-only contests with no audience, no events where films are screened, and getting a trophy means having to buy one workcabinfilms.ca/filmmakers…
