The year is 2018, and former NFL All-Pro Aldon Smith has had a really long day. So the 6'5", 280-pound man climbs under a car and falls asleep.
A few years prior, he became the fastest player in league history to get 30 quarterback sacks.
At this point, getting double-digit sacks was all but expected, but double-digit arrests…not so much.
But when he steps onto that field, he casually records 11 tackles and a sack. This was after an alcohol filled five year hiatus.
Aldon Smith has always been legitimately great on a football field. He's just never seemed to believe he was worth much off it.
But he’s always believed the lie that he wasn’t worth much off it.

I’ve said from the beginning “@Bengals should have been putting in 3-5 guys a year in those first 2 -3 classes. If there were 3 more guys included in the class of Issac Curtis and myself I would have still enjoyed the honor and ceremony. We are so many years behind . The guys from the 70’s and 80’s deserve their recognition before leaving this earth. They should’ve been 1st! We have so many great players in team history picking 2 then next year 1. up and down run but I think there are clear pathways for improvement for shai to have a monster run.
I'll say having a series like PHX where he was very dominant and having that baseline of translation should be huge for his confidence even with the lackluster SAS showing.
