I'm beyond thrilled to share that my memoir CAMOUFLAGE: How I Emerged from the Shadows of a Military Marriage will be out in the world in fall 2025! Huge thanks to my amazing agent @BookishNajla and @DebraEnglander at Post Hill Press. This is just the beginning!
I had a blast at the Books Booze event at Dave & Buster's. I signed copies of CAMOUFLAGE, gave out bookmarks red candy, and chatted with so many interesting people. The event was packed for 3 hours, with hundreds of book lovers coming out to support local authors and vendors.
I'm super excited to share about how my writing career kicked off in the insightful Substack Your First Byline. It was so fun going through my folder of all my first essays that I printed out and saved from 2010.

My life as a military spouse ended with my divorce, but I treasure my memories of traveling the world thanks to the military.
Read all about my three years in Japan, as well as the other duty stations I lived at in my memoir CAMOUFLAGE, available wherever books are sold.
When you get a personal invite to join a fun book event at Dave & Buster's, you say yes without hesitation. If you’re in the Hampton Roads area, come out to Books & Booze on June 10 at the Virginia Beach Dave & Buster's from 6-9pm. I’ll be there signing my memoir CAMOUFLAGE!
As I celebrated my recent birthday — the big 5-0 — I reflected on some of the lessons I’ve learned throughout my life.

I’m so grateful for this amazing review a reader left for my memoir CAMOUFLAGE on my birthday. Thank you!
The best gift you can give an author? Read their book and leave a review. Reviews really help books get seen and help the right readers find them.
When I first started writing, my goal was to publish a book before I turned 50.
Today is my 50th birthday. My debut memoir CAMOUFLAGE: How I Emerged from the Shadows of a Military Marriage was published in October, which means I hit my goal by 7 months!

So what’s my 50th birthday wish? Maybe to sell 50 more books. Or maybe to get my 50th Amazon review. Or maybe to collect 50 photos of readers with my book. Or maybe just to hear from 50 people who saw this post and want to say congrats on unlocking a life goal.
But if nothing else, my 50th birthday wish is for you to keep chasing your goals, even those goals that seem unrealistic. It’s never too late. Keep going.
