When I had happily learned to play snakes and ladders as a child I had no idea it was a metaphor for life and that’s how the entire adult life was going to be. One wrong move and you are pushed back in life. You are at equal odds but another person can keep getting big ladders and small snakes. You think now you almost made it but it’s never true. At least in the game you can see upcoming snakes but life can take you down at any point. In the game you win or lose, but in life it’s only over with your death.
