EEAT, schema, meta descriptions, llm.txt, unlinked brand mentions… just more fluff from "SEO gurus". Reality. Homepages still rank at the top without H1s or metas. Titles still matter. "Crawled - currently not indexed" is usually a content issue or just a weak fresh domain (you can't brute-force mass into index), not a broken Google indexer. Joke of the day: pages like mmjhealth.com/ai-info/. They literally beg AI to note they are an "evaluation clinic, not a dispensary." Maybe I’m just not enlightened enough yet to know if Google actually used this page for its AI answers, or if it genuinely figured out they are a clinic anyway. 50/50, but saved it as a fun example. 😅

Just to illustrate how overhyped LLM referral traffic actually is: chatgpt-vs-google.com/ Based on a sample of ~75k sites: 📉 Google Search sends 190x more traffic than AI. 📉 ChatGPT’s CTR is 96% lower than Google’s. And this is despite ChatGPT already handling ~18% of Google’s daily volume (2.5B searches). TL;DR: Citations in AI trackers don’t really translate into actual traffic. I’m sticking to optimizing solely for Gemini (AI Overviews in SERP) for my target keywords. The charts in the link show exactly why. #SEO #AI #Google #ChatGPT
