As noted on the quoted tweet, not much will change (not even the @) --this is to be legally distinct from Shogakukan. We'll still be doing threads, contests, and translations as always. Shogakukan is still going to be the key focus, *but* with this new name the hope is going forward we'll be applying our talents to J-culture/media of all kinds and publishers! Otakon welcomes Ryo Ariyama and Ryo Kamito to Otakon 2026! Ryo Ariyama is a novelist based in Japan. His notable works include Romelia War Chronicles (Shogakukan Gagaga Books) and Dungeon Master Madarame (TO Books), both of which have been adapted into manga. Ariyama continues to write actively on the online novel platform Shōsetsuka ni Narō. Ryo Kamito is a manga artist and illustrator from Hokkaido, Japan. She is known for the manga adaptation of Romelia War Chronicles and for creating cover illustrations for the original novel.
