Yea, but people glaze him too hard for being a decent pilot. In top10 UC Aces, he's the guy at 10 as an obligatory mention. Char's a much better commander and wingman.
You can say a lot about Char but you can’t call him a bad pilot
He was able to hold his own against the Gundam with just a regular Zaku. The story would have been over if their mobile suits were equalized.

ZZ is a better story, fullstop.
But, the main reason is because the author of Unicorn's source material is vocally right-wing. If the same crowd read about how independent Tomino's views were; they'd disown Gundam altogether. Because it isn't actually "spiritually leftist" media
I find people who love ZZ but hate Unicorn very odd.
Not only is Unicorn a soft sequel to ZZ but they're spiritually the same show.

She didn't change her beliefs though. She wanted to see action, and live on the edge as a double agent. Her last hour says more about what she was up to than any lip service she paid to Kamille and Fa to try and shake them. She was willing to die to take the head off the snake.
Reccoa remains to be a fascinating character to me because I’ve actually met people like her in my life.
People who will make a complete 180 of all of their beliefs simply because of the failings of everyone around them. Many of whom are women, but it’s not limited to that.
And it is just as blatant on their part. The only thing different with Reccoa is that she’s actually much more honest about how it isn’t ideological for her.
You have to wonder if Tomino based her on a person she’s met in real life.

i feel like Reborns Gundam couldve implemented some colour change when he swaps modes
like maybe phase shift the White colors to a dark grey/black or try purple so it's not very jarring from the back when he turns into his reborns cannon mode

I think an 8/10 is very fair for it. Honestly though, outside of EVOLUTION, Sunrise's QA is usually really good. Even if a SEED or Unicorn fan came out of the woodwork calling it an 8, I'd wish them happiness with their Plamo. The bar is higher for Gundam than most anime.

I have to say while I’m enjoying this one, I’m not as into it as I was with the others.
Though I almost felt like that with 0080 until the last two episodes, so maybe that’ll happen here.
It’s still 7 or 8/10 territory for me though.

Your loss. There's no indignity to AUs. Gundam X is a cult classic because it sets a similar stage to the UC, in a way that some people find more satisfying.
The ridiculous worship of it as "real Gundam" is really dumb. It ultimately degrades the UC to put it on a pedastal.
I don't care if it's an AU, I consider Gundam X part of UC canon.

This makes even less sense, not just because the Feddies wear similar to Imperial Japanese uniforms; but because MSG requires the Gundam to be a miracle weapon to stall for mass production suits to be made and reach the front- because the Gundam is older than it's MP counterpart.

Because the Feddies aren't just the US. They're a pastiche of Allied powers, initially representing the chaotic, desperate defence of China and Malaya but gradually morphing into the unstoppable military-industrial juggernaut of the US. Zeon is mostly Japan with a bit of Germany

I still don't get what the commotion is about. It looks boring, but most Gundam shit does until it gets good. Except SEED and Narrative, they just stay boring.

CCA isn't even the best version of CCA. It's a gorgeous anime movie, but it's also incoherent and fails to take Char from Idealistic Hero to Uberdoomer (you have to treat it like a diff char.)
It's a culmination of things that just justify Amuro, and the rest is a fireworks show.
there is a certain group of gundam fans who are very opinionated about certain gundam shows and use some very colorful words to describe them, but if you dare use those same words on their precious CCA, then you have officially gone too far. its a very funny phenomenon.

It just doesn't work for me. The character models suck, the story is far too interested in horny teenagers, and Gundams are mass produced at a scale that makes them less exciting.
The occasional shocking hyperviolence doesn't make that easier to overlook. Most mecha have that.

Also, for IBO fans- The Barbato's funny crest is the joke being writ large instead of a subtle reference like Grandpa's lineage. Barbato's head unit is a more literal interpretation of Casshern's mask from the 73 anime and manga.
