Leadership is more than strategy. I recently put together a presentation discussing leadership as a performance factor within VALORANT Esports. The discussion focuses on why tactical leadership often appears to be prioritised over social and developmental leadership, and why leadership development may be one of the most overlooked areas within high performance teams. Interested to hear thoughts from players, coaches and staff :D youtu.be/piAmZrI2Gec #VALORANTEsports #VCT #VALORANT

Would be a huge shame if somehow VCT messed up the draw and we had to change all of regional match ups for different games right? #VALORANTMasters

GE vs LEV (Pearl Fracture Notes) 1. GE Macro and Micro on Pearl is simply lovely to watch with great conditioning all around the map. LEV struggle to keep up and read GE's plays with dysfunctional defaults and micro. 2. Fracture the tables turn, LEV opening up with really nice set plays and ideas taking advtantage of Onur's strengths as a coach 3. Frost takes a timeout and gives the boys a perfect adaptation potentially mentioning LEVS stacks during set plays and to slow the pace down and limit test / force a lurk and punish LEV's compositional weakness. 4. LEV's heavy emphasis on set plays w/o senti opens them up for GE's lurks which they have success with and good adaptation from GE and Frost 5. Udo's OP purchase really allowed GE to stabilise and gain some momentum with him getting guaranteed value on almost every round. 6. GE has one of the best communication structures with great calls and ideas from multiple players throughout Fracture really testing LEV's discipline and rotations but also exposing their comps glaring weaknesses. 7. Somewhat readable defaults from LEV 4-1ing set plays pre barrier with early value but eventually GE catch on. 8. Vibes and energy is absolutely immaculate from GE, every single player is laughing, shouting and vibing. Maybe GE can remind teams that having fun influences high performance :D 9. Sato is not only one of the most talented players from LATAM but his energy and social input is unmatched and really allows his team to have fun and be comfortable. 10. Operator value from both teams is making a huge difference in deciding the round (Udo vs Sato). GE have really nice bait setups / layers with Udo's Chamber on defence. 11. Global are incredibly proactive and are rewarded throughout a couple rounds. Taking risks = Value. #VALORANTMasters

Notes and Summary For FS vs FUT FUT Pistols - 3 FS Pistols - 1 1. FullSense are not a bad team. They do not have bad micro or macro but this Fracture was really poor. In my opinion, FullSense (Crws Coaches) adopted a slow playstyle to get comfortable to the stage counter FUTS aggression. However, The slow style did not counter FUT and only really forced FS into a hole that they couldn't get out. Would've preferred Crws / Coaches to just full death ball after the first 4 - 5 rounds to try and clinch a couple rounds instead of forcing a slow macro heavy GP which got little to no value. 2. FUT were not phased by the new stage and environment at all, playing fearlessly and aggressively having a great time with S0PP and Xeus looking absolutely fierce. 3. I think, Crws prioritised a slow macro heavy GP on attack to mitigate nerves and risks but it worked against them rather than in their favour making the players look nervous and uncomfortable despite the team seeming pretty chill. 4. Great call from FS to force on Haven after losing the pistol, adopting a "Fuck it, we ball" mindset gave me hope and made me believe we might see a more dangerous version of the team but after securing the force, FS werent able to gain much momentum. 5. FUT are too confident when arriving on Haven, S0pp is super saiyan and the rest of the team are steady and comfortable, FS cannot catch a break. 5.5 FUT look genuinely scary and are proving to be challenge for any team they play within the tournament. They make unwinnable situations doable with every play having their moments. 6. FS are one of the most balanced teams in VCT with high level micro across the team yet the GP for both maps on attack is contact, grouped, slow rounds with players barely being able to shoot their guns with little to no fast strats for FullSense. 7. FUT have incredible pre round calls and great mid round micro plays that are absolutely destroying FS. 8. Coach timeouts aren't saving FullSense throughout both maps with little to no adaptation with macro and micro being off even on Haven. 9. A great example of how confidence and momentum can truly feel impossible to stop when given to the wrong team. FullSense gave FUT an inch and FUT took a whole ass mile. FS look so much more confident on defence compared to attack with them playing more fierce and aggresive, honestly could've been a completely different series if they were able to start on CT instead of attack. Full credit to FUT for bursting into London with full confidence and dominance, cant help but feel disappointed for FS, really felt like they barely played the game and continued to play in a style that isn't fun to watch or play. Hoping they can bounce back for the next match whilst FUT continue to dominate. #VALORANTMasters

- NRG looked slow / underprepared on Lotus in the opening rounds with late adaptations. Their Pearl T side looking predictable and static, could have been costly without XLG's weak early micro / nerves. - Keiko covered NRG a lot, without him being confident and Super Saiyan the game would have been in a different stage. - Vyse wall caused XLG some issues and its a main focus point for this event imo - Effective timeout from Bonkar before round 10 with NRG causing pressure towards C and take timing on B, allowing Keiko to catch two and stunt XLG after taking a timeout - Great call from Bonkar / Ethan and counters their timeout causes more potential error for mistakes. - XLG had decent macro understanding but really struggled with micro on Pearl and a deeper depth of macro on Lotus. One dimensional thinking - required a pre mortem for Lotus and with all the analysts discussing their obvious B/C attack style I would've hoped they had more depth. - XLG play joint at the hip as a unite on Lotus and proving that you don't want to 5v5 when they are holding sites or retaking. - Lack of exec utility from XLG on Lotus forces them to adopt a slow / pokey style of play and NRG took time to adapt but eventually forced XLG to gamble on strats with no luck. For a first time showing with the comp on the international stage this will be a good test for them but its a similar situation to previous events. Regardless, props to XLG for testing elements of NRG, NRG really need to step up in their next match for me to believe in another successful event.

Hey all! I'm currently writing my university dissertation, focusing on DISC personality traits amoung elite VALORANT players (Immortal - Radiant) The goal of this research is to explore which personality traits are most common at high ranks and how they might relate to in game roles and competitive behavior. The findings could really help inform future coaching approaches in competitive VALORANT, and its something I'm really excited to explore. If you’re Immortal or Radiant, I’d really appreciate it if you could take a few minutes to fill out my survey. If anyone would like further information or wants to ask any questions feel free to send me a DM and I'd be more than happy to chat! docs.google.com/forms/d/1Ecj… #VALORANT #VALORANTCoaching

1️⃣Pearl’s off season meta got me theorycrafting… Double duelists and double initiators have dominated Pearl in the offseason but what if we explore double controllers? Viper Astra could bring back a 2023 Harbour/Viper vibe whilst opening a new take on the map for 2026. 🚨THREAD BELOW🚨

1️⃣0️⃣Final Thoughts and Feelings This comp is different, unique, and slightly unconventional, which is exactly why I felt excited to write about it. Viper’s utility in combination with Astra and supportive duelists opens layers of strategy that aren’t typically explored at the professional level. In theory, it seems strong, adaptable, and capable of controlling tempo and rotations in ways most teams aren’t expecting. That said, theory and practice are very different things. Execution, coordination, and timing all have to line up perfectly, and there’s every chance the comp could flop or fail in real games and that’s completely fine. Sharing ideas like this is about exploring possibilities, not guaranteeing results. Ultimately, what I hope to see in 2026 is a team brave enough to experiment with this composition, to test its limits, and see how far off-meta ideas can push the meta forward. Even if it only works partially, the lessons learned could influence new strategies, creative uses of utility, and the evolution of map control on Pearl.
